THE ASSESSOR
Authenticity, in the palm of your hand.
Assessor is an app for gallerists, museums, and collectors. Photograph a work with the phone or tablet you already carry, add what you know, and the model studies the artist's full record and compares every visual detail against it — then returns a confidence score for the work's authenticity. No proprietary hardware. Add a 3D camera only if you want one.

How it works
Capture, context, comparison, confidence.
Capture
Open Assessor on a phone or tablet and follow the guided capture — face, verso, signature, edges, and condition details. Devices with LiDAR add depth automatically; an optional 3D camera adds more. No lab, no shipping.
Context
The model ingests everything known about the artist: catalogue raisonné entries, exhibition history, auction records, provenance documents, and institutional holdings.
Compare
Detailed visual analysis is compared against authenticated comparables, documented materials, known forgeries, and stylistic inconsistencies flagged in the literature.
Score
Assessor returns a confidence score for the work's authenticity, with the specific signals that support or complicate it. Use it as a first pass before a specialist review.

Privacy & security
State-of-the-art discretion.
Authentication is sensitive by nature. Assessor is designed so that the work, the images, and the conclusions stay under the owner's control. Everything is encrypted in transit and at rest and scoped to your account; nothing is sent to a shared training pool or exposed to other users.
- ·Captures and reports are private to your account, never pooled with other users' work.
- ·All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and deleted at the end of each session unless you choose to archive it.
- ·Assessor only runs when you start a scan; it never listens or records passively in the background.
- ·No images are used to train shared models. Your collection stays yours.
Optional 3D capture
Your phone is enough. A camera goes further.
Assessor is built around the camera you already own. If your work warrants finer surface and depth fidelity — impasto, craquelure, tool marks, carving — you can pair a third-party 3D scanner. Buy it yourself, or we will source it for you at cost.
Phone or tablet
$0
Included — the default
Guided multi-angle capture using the camera you already own. On devices with LiDAR or depth sensors, Assessor uses them automatically for surface relief. This is how most assessments are run.
Best for: Every user — dealers, curators, and collectors working on the move.
Entry 3D scanner
from ~$400
$400 – $700, third-party
A handheld or clip-on structured-light scanner (Revopoint-class) paired to your phone. Adds true depth capture for texture, impasto, and carved or moulded surfaces at a modest price.
Best for: Dealers and single-location galleries wanting surface detail beyond a photograph.
Professional 3D scanner
from ~$2,500
$2,500 – $4,500, third-party
A metrology-grade handheld or tripod-mounted scanner (Artec / Creaform-class) with colour-accurate capture and sub-millimetre resolution, producing archival 3D records alongside the report.
Best for: Museums, conservation labs, and high-value authentication work.
