Our technology
Atelier is built around an AI curator — a model trained to value rare objects, learn the taste of every collector, and range across the world to find the pieces that belong in a collection. Machine intelligence, confirmed by hand.
01 — The model
Every piece that enters Atelier is appraised by the AI curator before a specialist ever sees it. The model weighs medium, provenance, grading and certification, recent comparable results, and the specific character of the work — then returns a fair market range with a stated confidence.
It flags provenance that does not add up and holdings that need a second opinion. A human appraiser reviews every flag, and nothing goes live without sign-off. The machine does the breadth; the specialist does the judgement.
The same capability is being built for domains far beyond art — see where Atelier is heading.
02 — Taste
Before a collector sees a single recommendation, the curator builds a taste profile. A short round of paired images — bold against restrained, figurative against abstract, heritage against contemporary — teaches the model what you respond to, not just what you say you want.
That profile is weighed alongside budget, medium, timeline and the artists you follow. Every interest registered sharpens the profile further. The curator keeps learning.
03 — Sourcing
Most galleries show what walked through the door. Atelier's curator goes the other way: it ranges across auction houses, private sales, estate clearances and global inventory, looking for undervalued works that fit a brief.
When it finds a match — a piece priced below its fair market value, in a medium and a scale that suits, in a condition worth confirming — it surfaces it. An acquisition desk that never clocks out.
